(September, 2005)

First Scrapbooking Magazine With CD-ROM Bundled in Every Issue

Brisbane, CA - Future Network USA is proud to announce the launch of their new consumer-enthusiast magazine Scrapbook Answers, hitting newsstands on September 13th. Scrapbook Answers is the company’s first foray into the huge women’s crafts market, according to president Jonathan Simpson-Bint.

Continuing Future’s tradition of publishing magazines for consumers passionate about their interests, Scrapbook Answers will be the ultimate hands-on how-to guide for the consumers who make scrap-booking an incredible $2.6 billion business. Scrapbook Answers will speak to all levels of scrapbookers from beginner to experts and provide tons of hands-on instruction with detailed how-tos, product features, design studies, and valuable step-by-step articles, all done in a friendly, modern tone.

Every issue of Scrapbook Answers will also include a CD packed with exclusive how-to videos from the editors, font collections, high-quality photos, free and demo software, and a gallery of layouts to keep readers inspired. Scrapbook Answers will fully embrace new digital techniques while continuing to provide hands-on instruction for traditional scrapbooking, bridging the two methods.

Editor-in-Chief Leslie Ayers says, "We're looking forward to becoming scrapbookers' go-to source for how-tos, product reviews, and innovative ideas they can apply to their pages right away."

Scrapbook Answers will publish nine issues annually plus a number of specials with an initial circulation of 150,000 copies. Scrapbook Answers can be found in Borders, Barnes & Noble, Kmart, Target, Wal-mart, Jo-Anns’ Fabrics, Michael’s and Wal-Mart Canada with a newsstand price of $7.99.

The scrapbooking industry growth numbers are startling: according to The National Survey of Scrapbooking in America released in June 2004, the industry grew by 4.4 million new scrapbooking households since 2001, fueling annual industry sales growth by 28% to $2.55 billion. The percentage of US households who actively scrapbook has increased from to nearly one in every four households, from 2001 to 2004.

Editor-in-chief Leslie Ayers is an avid scrap-booker, and is looking forward to combining her publishing career with one of her most rewarding hobbies. She comes to Scrapbook Answers from custom publishing company Tendo Communications, where she was a managing editor. Previously she was the senior editor at Wired News, and held numerous editorial positions at Smart Business and PC Computing magazines.

Future Network USA vice president Holly Klingel will be the launch publisher.

“Our products are known for mirroring the passions of our readers,” says editorial director Jon Phillips. “We’re excited to publish a magazine that scrap-booking fans will embrace as innovative, thorough, and in touch with their emotions.”
