Conference/Event Marketing Manager - South San Francisco, CA

Conference/Event Marketing Manager needed for fast-growing events team that produces events, conferences, and tradeshows for a wide range of consumers and advertisers. The ideal candidate is an individual with significant experience in the design and implementation of results-driven marketing programs. This position has direct responsibility for conference marketing, positioning and presentation for as many as 10 conferences a year.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Lead the marketing team on analyzing promotional campaigns to better target key customers with each consecutive marketing effort. Increase savings to allow for more testing/different areas.
• Ensure that event plans are followed and milestones met; meet formally with team at least once a week to discuss progress and plan adjustments
• Using event analysis, recommend methods to improve marketing campaigns
• Serve as primary liaison for partner events and work with E-Advertising Manager to ensure supplemental/complementary marketing campaigns are in place and effective.
• Work with Manager to track marketing effectiveness and readjust marketing plans so that they capitalize on lists that are working best; ensure this analysis and plan readjustments are communicated regularly to Senior Management.
• Drive production of sponsorship documents and non-attendee marketing projects.
• Assist Production as needed; includes but is not limited to researching lists and new avenues for marketing; writing copy for e-mails, print ads, brochures, proceedings books and show directory, signage, etc.
• Make sure that Customer Service issues are reconciled on a daily/weekly basis.
• Be primary communicator for the entire team on how the conference is developing.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• 5-7 years of event marketing management
• Strong writing and editing skills
• Ability to work within a cross functional environment (Finance, Marketing, Publishing)
• Aggressive, results-driven orientation
• Creative, out-of-the-box thinker
• Passionate, driven, tenacious
