Director of Sales, Revolver - New York, NY

Future is seeking an accomplished media professional to plan, direct and lead advertising sales efforts for Revolver. The ideal candidate will possess extensive contacts in the consumer advertising space and a passion for Revolver’s content and community.
- Develop advertising sales plan to fulfill growth and revenue goals of
business, oversee budgeting and forecasting
- Report monthly actual 3-6-12-month outward forecasts against plan, and
provide competitive statistics and analyses
- Hire, develop, manage high-performing sales staff by providing leadership,
coaching, training and direction to achieve and exceed revenue goals
- Manage all aspects of the sales function including the development of
new and incremental business by seeking out new clients, determining
needs, and proposing appropriate programs to them directly or via sales
staff
- Develop and maintain relationships with key agencies and clients, function as
“face” of business in marketplace
- Work closely with marketing team and Publishing Director to develop a
cohesive, results-oriented effort that heightens brand recognition and
promotes sales
- Work with Publishing Director to develop new advertising opportunities and
revenue streams
- Work with marketing and operations teams to maximize sales process
on behalf of clients and sales staff
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years consumer advertising sales experience, preferably 1-2 years managerial experience
- Experience with a male-oriented property desired, music experience a plus
- Proven track record of success in meeting and exceeding revenue goals
- Superb credentials in national marketplace
- Solid contacts at key clients and agencies
- Strong people management/leadership skills
- Ability to think and plan strategically
- Superior skills to create, present and implement innovative advertising sales
programs
- Demonstrated expertise in wide variety of advertising sales concepts, practices
and procedures
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, learn new areas
quickly, take ownership of issues/projects, develop recommendations,
align with team and execute on proposal
- Positive attitude, enthusiasm, high energy, sense of humor
- Comfort working in fast growing, rapidly changing environment
- Ability/willingness to travel extensively
- Must have entrepreneurial spirit
- High independence
- BA/BS degree
